STORM IN EASTERN UNITED STATES
(Rec. 9.55 p.m.) NEW YORK, August 25. Tornadoes, thunderstorms and sudden terrific winds struck the Atlantic coast from Massachusetts to Virginia. One person is dead and scores are injured. Homes were demolished and uprooted trees blocked highways.
