ENEMY LINER IS TORPEDOED VESSEL ON WAY TO LIBYA (Rec. 2 a.m.) LONDON, May 28. A British submarine has sunk an 18,000-ton troopship which was on its way to Libya. The liner, which was heavily escorted was hit by two torpedoes. It was thought to be carrying 3000 troops. A French tanker which was steering for Tripoli under the escort of Italian warships was also torpedoed. Hits were scored on a supply ship and another tanker.
