AUSTRALIAN LABOUR REJECTS COALITION
CANBERRA, May 28. The Federal Labour caucus, at a pre-sessional meeting today rejected the further offer of the Prime Minister, Mr R. G. Menzies, to create a National Ministry embracing members of the Labour Party. The Federal Parliament will reopen tomorrow. Mr Menzies’s offer to Labour was half the portfolios in a National Ministry, which the Labour Party unanimously rejected, but reaffirmed its intention to give full and effective cooperation in the Government’s war effort.
