SITTING OF MANPOWER COMMITTEE
The Southland Man-Power Committee held a sitting in Invercargill yesterday and considered 20 appeals for and on behalf of volunteers for active service, and 32 appeals for and on behalf of men called up in territorial ballots. Eleven of the appeals were adjourned sine die subject to the men joining the Home Guard and 18 were adjourned until various dates. Two appeals were dismissed as at September 30 and Augst 31.
The committee will sit next at Balfour on June 11.
