HOME GUARD Last night A Company of the Gore battalion of the Home Guard paraded in the Theatre Royal. B Company will parade in the theatre at the same hour tonight and tomorrow night C Company will parade at the theatre. The first aid section will also parade at the Red Cross rooms tomorrow night, while the stretcher-bearers will parade at the Parish Hall and the signallers at the Soldiers’ Club rooms.
Major-General R. Young, Dominion Commander of the Home Guard, will inspect the units parading tomorrow night. The battalion commander asks all ranks to make a special effort to attend. C Company members are asked to note the altered parade night. All officers will parade at the Soldiers’ Club at 9 p.m. to meet Major-General Young. MOTOR REGISTRATIONS About 700 vehicles have been licensed
at Gore up to the present time. On Friday night the office in Mac Gibbon’s buildings, Mersey street, will reopen until 9 o’clock to enable those who have not licensed their vehicles to do so. On Saturday the office will remain open until 1 o’clock. WOMEN’S GOLF The draw of the Gore Ladies’ Golf Club for an L.G.U. match to be played tomorrow and on Saturday is as follows:—
