Mr C. S. Mackay, of Wellington, who has been paying a short visit to Invercargill, returned north by yesterday afternoon’s express. Mx’ T. W. Brandford, of Winton, has returned from Wellington. Mr G. A. Wilkes, postmaster at Riverton, has resumed duty after his annual leave.
Sergeant-Pilot J. G. Finn, of Wigram, is spending his leave in Invercargill. Mr G. Nicholson, of Wellington, has arrived in Invercargill to take up a position on the field staff of the A.M.P. Society, where he will be associated with Mr A. H. Ryder. Formerly Mr Nicholson was on the indoor staff of the A.M.P. Society and for the past six years has been district agent at Lower Hutt.
Mi’ F. W. Bailey, postmaster at Queenstown, resumed duty yesterday aftei - his annual leave.
Guests at yesterday’s luncheon meeting of the Invercargill Rotary Club were: the Mayor of Invercargill (Mr J. R. Martin), the Southland provincial president of the Fanners’ Union (Mi- E. A. Cameron), Mr Norman Heath (Auckland) and the Rev. E. O. Blamires (Wellington).
