DEBATING

MARIST BROTHERS OLD BOYS’ CLUB

The fortnightly meeting of the Marist Brothers Old Boys’ Debating Club was held in the St. Mary’s Hall last evening. A very good attendance of members heard a debate on the subject “That men have made and are making life a burden.” The affirmative was led by Mr L. Campbell with Messrs C. Kean and J. Reidy in support. For the negative Mr M. Fenton was the leader and with him were Messrs P. Lister and W. Pascoe.

The judge, Mr G. Meffin, complimented the speakers and awarded the decision to the negative side.
