“If necessary the New Zealand Air Force could put up a fair scrap in the defence of the Dominion,” said the Hon. Adam Hamilton, a member of the War Cabinet in the course of a speech at the civic reception to the Royal New Zealand Air Force Band in Invercargill yesterday afternoon. “We have more planes than some people think and good ones, too,” Mr Hamilton added. “I am sure our Air Force would put up a wonderful fight to save our country. The Air Force plays an important part in the defence of New Zealand.”
