CARBON PRODUCED IN N.S.W.
SYDNEY, May 16. Activated carbon, an essential component of gas masks, which are being made in Australia for the fighting forces, is being produced from coconut shells by a local company in a New South Wales factory. When the continuity of supplies of activated carbon from overseas was threatened the company erected the factory and took steps to secure supplies of coconut shells from the Pacific islands.
