DELEGATION BIDDEN FAREWELL

VISIT TO UNITED STATES | (P.A.) AUCKLAND, May 17. 1 The chairman, Mr Hendry Luke, and j members of the Auckland Harbour 1 Board and the Mayor, Sir Ernest Davis, today bade farewell to the Hon. F. I Langstone and the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, who are soon to leave on a special mission to the United States. The Ministers were congratulated by Mr Luke on having been selected and extended wishes for a successful mission.

Mr Coates said it was necessary to do all possible to purchase what New Zealand required in the United States. Mr Langstone and he would co-operate in this connection.

Mr Langstone said it was necessary that political feuds should be dropped with a view to everybody co-operating t a win the war.

The Governor-General, Sir Cyril Newall, received Mr Coates at Government House yesterday and Mr Langstone today.
