INFANTILE PARALYSIS RESEARCH

NEW YORK, May 15.

The National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis disclosed that Dr Albert Sabin has established a new theory that the poliomyelitis virus invades the human body through the mouth rather than the nose. The foundation said that this was an entirely new field of research into- an infection which so far had baffled the medical world.

Dr Sabin also pointed out that infantile paralysis frequently followed tennis, swimming and walking in less than 24 hours. Heavy exercise apparently converted the milder form of the disease into the more serious form. Persons exposed to infantile paralysis should avoid heavy exercise and guard against chills.
