BRITISH LOSSES IN EUROPE

LONDON, May 15.

The total number of British and Imperial troops sent to France up to June 1940, was 437,000. The number who returned from France, including the wounded brought away, was 384,000. The number left in France as prisoners of war was 40,000. The total of the British forces sent to Norway was 23,800. The number of those who returned was 22,600. Those left as prisoners of war totalled 950. These figures were given in the House of Commons today by the Financial Secretary to the War Office, Sir Edward Grigg.
