MAGISTRATE’S COURT
MONDAY (Before Mr R. C. Abernethy, S.M.) 1 Ernest Gordon Camie, of Makarewa, was sentenced to 14 days’ imprisonment for arrears of maintenance. The Magistrate ordered the warrant to be suspended on payment of £6/1/6. William Frederick Davis was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment for arrears of maintenance. An order was made for the warrant to be suspended on payment of £2B/6/8. Sydney Rapley, for whom Mr H. E. Russell appeared, was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment for disobedience of an order for the maintenance of his children, the warrant to be suspended on payment of 1/- a week off the arrears, and current maintenance. He was also sentenced to 14 days’ imprisonment for arrears of maintenance' for his wife, for whom Mr G. J. Reed appeared, a similar order of suspension of the warrant on payment of 1/- a week off the arrears being made. An order was made for maintenance at the rate of 7/6 a week for an additional child. An application for variation of the maintenance was dismissed. Albert Thomas Ladbrook, of Athol (Mr J. G. Imlay), was ordered to pay maintenance to his wife, for whom Mr J. C. Prain appeared, at the rate of £1 a week and for his child at 10/- a week.
