MEETING OF WOMEN'S AUXILIARY
SPLENDID ATTENDANCE
The first mass meeting of members of the Women’s War Service Auxiliary in Invercargill was held in St. John’s Hall last evening. There was an excellent attendance, more than 300 girls and women being present. Mrs W. M. Wilson, the newly-ap-pointed physical welfare officer for Southland, made arrangements for classes in physical training, and arrangements for . the start of first-aid classes were made by Mrs J. Robbie. Approximately 100 new members were enrolled last night and this brings the total membership to more than 300. During the evening an address was given by the president (Mrs R. C. Abernethy). Community singing was held and was led by Mrs D. Mulvey. Mrs Ivon Wilson was at the piano. About 100 girls will begin physical training tomorrow evening. They will assemble at St. John s Hall at 7.15 o’clock. The physical training group for Monday, May 5, will assemble at the hall at the same time.
