WOMEN’S DIVISION

SOUTH HILLEND: Mrs W. Langford presided over the monthly meeting. A motion of sympathy was passed with the members of the O’Malley and Kelly families in their recent bereavement. The roll call was “How I spent Easter.” It was decided to purchase wool for knitting gifts for local soldiers for overseas. In addition to another completed quilt, which was displayed, members brought along a number of knitted squares to be joined together for a new quilt. To augment the funds it was decided to hold a series of card tournaments. An exchange table was presided over by Mrs Cunningham. Mesdames Hamilton, Muir and Miss M. Hamilton were hostesses for the meeting and Mrs W. Woods was acting secretary.

WOODLANDS.— The ninth annual meeting of the branch was held in the hall. Mrs J. Robbie presided over a good atteni dance of members. Walker; secrei tary and treasurer, Miss F. Henderson; committee. Mrs W. Henderson, Misses McKerchar, Corrie and Christie; advisory members, Mrs J. W. McNicol and Mrs Frew; hostess secretary, Miss Corrie; competition secretary, Miss E. Barraclough; librarian, Miss Doris Dewe; delegates to executive, president, secretary and one vice-president in rotation. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr C. J.
