THREE EXCURSIONS ON SATURDAY
Three excursion trains were run by the Railway Department to various picnics in Southland on Saturday. About 500 passengers travelled on the train which took the combined Ohai lodges to Colac Bay and about 400 persons were on the special train which carried the employees of the Ocean Beach Freezing Company to Riverton. The picnics of the St. Andrew s Presbyterian Church and the Southland Electric Power Supply employees were both held at Bluff on Saturday and a special train carried about 400 persons to these picnics.
