COMBINED RAILWAYS ANNUAL BALL
SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION AT WAIRIO The combined railways annual ball was held in the Public Hall, Wairio, when there was a large attendance from the surrounding districts. The hall was decorated with the railway colours and streamers. The Grand March was led off by Mr and Mrs A. W. Keen. The masters of ceremonies were Messrs A. W. Keen and F. Forde. Extras for the dances were played by Messrs T. Luke and W. Hunt. A lucky spot waltz was won by Mr W. Marsh and Mrs A. Wardle. A. Monte Carlo w as won by Mr L. Purdue and Miss M. Steans. The proceeds, amounting to about £l4, were given to the local branch of the Patriotic Society.
