EXECUTIVE OF JOINT COUNCIL MEETS

LETTERS OF THANKS FROM SOLDIERS Several applications for assistance were dealt with at the monthly meeting of the executive of the Great War funds administration committee of the Joint Council of the Order of St. John and New Zealand Red Cross Society on Tuesday. Several letters of thanks were received from soldier patients for assistance granted them during the month. Patients were supplied with complimentary passes by the Southland Rugby Football Union and the Southland Wrestling Association. The women reported having visited the Southland hospitals fortnightly with an issue of tobacco and sweets for soldier patients. Those present at the meeting were: The president, Mrs H. H. Petrie, and Mesdames A. Hanan, F. Bartlett, A. Gray, and Miss M. A. Hunter.
