HITLER TO ADDRESS REICHSTAG

(Received July 17, 2 a.m.) LONDON, July 16. It is reported from Zurich that the Italian Foreign Minister (Count Galeazzo Ciano) is en route to Berlin for a Reichstag meeting, at which Hitler will announce his ultimatum to Britain. The Daily Mail says that Signor Virginie Gayda, Mussolini’s spokesman, revealed that Italy’s purpose is to keep powerful British naval units in the Mediterranean, so that Germany can carry out her proposed invasion with less risk. Meanwhile, the Italians face a dilemma as the result of the hew Admiralty announcement warning shipping that it is dangerous to go within 30 miles of the Italian coast. The Italian fleet must come out and attempt to destroy the blockading ships or the greater part of Italian trade with the outside world must be cut off.
