' ' " i Last evening the mixed doubles championship of the Southland Table Tennis Association was played-and although entries were smaller than usual there were several very strong pairs and the spectators saw a number of brilliant exhibitions. The final of the championship was between Miss M.~ McGrath and D. Hamilton and S. Robson and Mrs Robson and the former pah- won 21-18. 21-18 after a particularly good game. A mixed doubles handicap was also held on the two-life system and after some interesting games the wfnners proved to be T. Breayley and Miss A. Henderson, who beat M. Blackie and Mrs Blackie, 31-25. The championships will be continued tonight when the men’s and women’s singles and doubles championships will begin.
