QUEENSTOWN BOY SCOUTS ENROLLED

A large numbei' of parents and friends were present when 22 local boys were enrolled in the local Scout troop. Commissioner .G. E. T. Dorman, of Invercargill, performed the ceremony of investiture of Scoutmasters. He was accompanied by three Boy Scouts and a Cub from Invercargill and a Sea Scout from Bluff, who assisted with the programme. The Commissioner was introduced by Captain Dixon, leader of the local Scouts, and he was warmly welcomed by the president of the Troop, Captain G. A. Herbert. The investiture then took place of Scoutmaster Dixon and assistant Scoutmaster Cochrane. The Commissioner addressed the Scouts and explained to them fully the aims and ideals of all Scouts. The Mayor (Dr W. A. Anderson) also spoke to the boys and commended them on their smart appearance and the excellent progress they had made.
