PRESENTATION TO HARBOUR BOARD EMPLOYEE
On the occasion of his retirement because of ill-health, Mr T. F. Babbage was met yesterday by members of the staff and fellow employees of the Bluff Harbour Board. In making a presentation of a leather suitcase, the harbour, master, Captain N. B. W. Haszard, spoke of the efficient service Mr Babbage had given the board during the 11 years of his employment. The secretary, Mr R. N. Porter, the engineer, Mr D. E. S. Mason and Mr Lovett (pilot staff) also spoke. Mr Babbage replied. He will leave soon to reside in Wellington.
