N.Z. ORDERS IN AUSTRALIA
Minister Arrives In Melbourne
MUNITION PLANT WANTED <1 (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright) (Received June 26, 1.30 a.m.) MELBOURNE, June 25. The New Zealand Minister of Supply (the Hon. D. G. Sullivan) arrived in Melbourne today on his purchasing and organizing mission. He interviewed the Minister of Supply (Sir Frederick Stewart) and will see the Prime Minister (Mr R. G. Menzies) and other Ministers later. He will remain in Australia until the mission is completed whether it takes days or weeks. Mr Sullivan said the time had come for industrial co-operation between New Zealand and Australia. New Zealand’s organization had gone satisfactorily but the new crisis demanded still more activity. He hoped to place orders in Australia for trawlers convertible to mine-sweepers, Bren gun carriers, materials for filling shells and munition machinery generally. So far the Commonwealth had shown a spirit of cooperation, and, working together, Australia and New Zealand should achieve results.
