The lady editor, will be pleased to receive for publication In “The Social Round” each day items of social or personal news. Such items should be sent in promptly and should be fully authenticated. Engagement notices must bear the signatures of both parties. Correspondence is invited on any matters affecting, or of interest to, women. Miss B. McGregor has been appointed masseuse at the Southland Hospital. Sister Poole, of the nursing Staff of Gore Hospital, has been accepted for military service overseas. Mr and Mrs A. S. Gilkison, Avenal Flats, Dee street, are the guests of Mrs A J. Hawke, Gore, until the end of the week. Mrs E. H. Dare, Auckland, who has been visiting her daughter, Mrs Noel McGregor, Mount Linton, will leave for the north on Sunday night. The resignations of Sister J. Campbell, Staff Nurse McKinlay and Nurse M- Egan, of the Southland Hospital staff, all of whom are about to be married were received by the Southland Hospital Board yesterday. Women members of the Army, Navy and Ah' Force Club, Wellington, meet each Saturday in order to instruct men of the forces in darning and sewing. The classes are held particularly for the benefit of men who are going overseas. Miss B. Ross, senior member of the staff of the Invercargill Public Library, has been chosen to spend a fortnight in Wellington where she will gain practical
