WOOL-SCOURING WORKS ON FIRE
(United Press Association)
TIMARU, June 14. Damage estimated at £l5OO was caused by a fire which broke out shortly before noon today at the woolscouring works of W. Taylor and Co., Saltwater creek. The building housing the wool-drying plant was gutted and the machinery destroyed. Part of the loss was covered by insurance. The fire broke out as the men were starting up the drying plant and spread too quickly to be kept in check. The cause of the outbreak is not known. The loss of machinery is more severe at the present time when it may be difficult to replace.
