OBITUARY
MR JOHN RIGG The death occurred in Dunedin recently of Mr John Rigg, who for more than 50 years was accountant to the firm of Herbert, Haynes and Co., Ltd., Invercargill. During his residence in Invercargill Mr Rigg was a regular attendant at First Church and until quite recently he took a keen interest in boating matters and much enjoyed a sail on the estuary in his own boat. His kindly presence will be missed by his many friends in Southland. LIEUTENANT-COLONEL T. F. TWEED (Received May 1, 6.30 p.m.) LONDON, May 1. The death has occurred of LieutenantColonel T. F. Tweed, political adviser to Mr David Lloyd George. He was an underwriting member of Lloyd’s and a prominent official of the Liberal Party for many years. MR JAMES BARNES (Received May 1, 10.50 p.m.) SYDNEY, May 1. The death is announced today of a prominent turf identity, Mr James Barnes, aged 84, president of the New South Wales Trotting Club since 1914. He is a former chairman of Tattersails Club,
