QUEEN’S PARK LADIES’ CLUB The second qualifying round of the Rose Bowl competition was played in conjunction with a stroke handicap at the Queen’s Park golf links yesterday. The best cards were:— Senior.—Mrs S. Sutherland, 95-17-78; Mrs E. J. Morgan, 95-16-79; Mrs D. W. Stalker, 96-17-79. Junior.—Mrs C. Jones, 113-33-80; Mrs R. Field, 107-26-81. C Grade.—Miss E. Marshall.
The draw for the Rose Bowl competition, the first round of which will be played tomorrow, is as follows: — Mrs W. Gregory v. Mrs C. Davis; Mrs J. S. Robbie v. Mrs D. Stalker; Mrs D. W. Robinson v. INVERCARGILL LADIES’ CLUB An eclectic bogey handicap was completed by members of the Invercargill Ladies’ Golf Club at Otatara yesterday and in conjunction with it a round for the captain’s prize was played. Hall-Jones, 1 down. Captain’s Prize—Miss M. McCallum, 82, 81—163; Mrs J. D. Speirs, 84, 80— 164; Mrs A. C. Tansley, 80, 85—165; Mrs S. R. Lowden, 76, 89—165; Mrs C. C. Anderson, 81, 86 —167. The best score in the Handyside Cup competition for April was returned by Miss M. McCallum, 90-14-76. The L.G.U. match played by the first division resulted in a win for Miss June Horner with 101-32-69. Mrs O. Smith was next with 94-21-73 and Miss M. King third with 106-32-74. Miss Horner qualified for the Avon trophy and reduced her handicap by three strokes, from 32 to 29. In the stroke match played by the second division Mrs P. Gleeson was the winner with 114-36-78. Miss I. Mclndoe was next with 123-36-87.
