MR A. S. PATERSON’S ESTATE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH BENEFITS (United Press Association) DUNEDIN, April 29. The following bequests of a public character are made under the will of Mr A. S. Paterson, whose death occurred last week. £ University of Otago 5000 St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Dunedin 500 Dunedin Public Art Gallery Society Incorporated 1000 National Council of Young Men’s Christian Associations of New Zealand, to be applied for particular work of that council 1000 Dunedin Amenities and Town Planning Society 500 Presbyterian Church of New Zealand, free of duty, as endowment for augmenting by way of income therefrom inadequate salaries of ministers in the said church 10,000
PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF N.Z. The following legacies in each case for purpose of endowment for, and so that income only shall be applied in aid of the objects mentioned in connection with such legacy. For beneficiary fund (aged and infirm ministers’ fund and widows’ and orphans’ fund) in connection with the church 15,000 For Knox College, North-East Valley, Dunedin 10,000 For A. S. Paterson Library in connection with Knox College 3000 For the Presbyterian Women’s training Institute, Cumberland street, Dunedin 3000 For St. Margaret’s College, Leith street, Dunedin _ 6000 For library in connection with St. Margaret’s College 1500 For women’s beneficiary fund in connection with church for the benefit of single women missionaries in the foreign field 500
Subject to the payment of private legacies and annuities, the residue of the estate is given to the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand. The Guardian Trust and Executors Company of New Zealand Ltd. was appointed executor and trustee under the will.
