NIGHTCAPS
MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING SCORES AT WEEKLY FIXTURE There was a good attendance at the weekly shoot of the Nightcaps Miniature Rifle Club. The following are the results: C. J. Speight 76.4, J. A. Beck 74.3, A. H. Excell 74.2, H. Hiskins 74.2, C. Scott 74.2, R. Taylor 70.1, J. McColl 67.1, N. J. Grant 67, J. A. Steans 63, E. J. Flynn 64.1, F. Strudwicke 64, J. Robinson 61, H. Merris 60.1, A. Tinker 57, M. Mclnerney 56, W. McCoy 54.
PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE A meeting held in the Coronation Hall, Nightcaps, to consider forming a patriotic committee was well attended, about 60 people being present. Mr W. Grieve and Mr McDonald, Invercargill, were introduced to the audience by Mr W. Excell, chairman of the Town Board. After they had fully explained the need and aims of the Patriotic Council, the meeting decided to form a commit • tee with Nightcaps as the centre, and surrounding districts to form subcommittees. Mr W. Excell was appointed chairman and Mr C. Scott secretary. The committee appointed with power to add to its numbers was: Mesdames Lowe, Taylor, Thomson, tire Salvation Army captain, and Messrs Lewis, Brown, McKay, Lowry, Murray and Sinclair.
