FINED FOR SUPPLYING LIQUOR
CHARGE AGAINST MAN AT WHANGAREI (United Press Association) WHANGAREI, February 21. At the Kaitaia Magistrate’s Court Mr R. Ferner, S.M., fined Charles Henry Hopdless £l5 for - supplying liquor to 'two Maori girls. The evidence showed that the accused, who was a passenger in a service car, had the vehicle stopped at Herekino Gorge and opened beer bottles, handing them to two Maori girls, aged 19 and 15, who also were passengers, whereupon, according to the police, they were “rather merry.” The Magistrate emphasized the seriousness of the offence.
