EVENING SPORTS MEETING
EVENTS AT RUGBY PARK The weather was cold and threatening fox' the Southland Athletic Association’s sports meeting at Rugby Park last evening. There was quite a good attendance of competitors and the various events were keenly contested. A Drury won both cycling races. He had little to spare from T. Waddick m the mile event but in the two-mxle handicap Drury outclassed the others. The running events also resulted m interesting contests. J. Metcalfe won the mile handicap from a youthful opponent in R. Dixon, who put up a determined showing. The results were:— RUNNING 440 YARDS (Senior).—J. J. Shand 24yds 1, G. E. McLachlan 15yds 2, J.
