MAGISTRATE’S COURT
TUESDAY (Before Mr R. C. Abernethy, S.M.) Tom Young, alias Robert Young, alias Sing Lee, a Chinese, for whom Mr D. A. Bell appeared, was remanded until February *2B on a charge of obtaining £lO in goods and money from the Premier Drug Company at Palmerston North on January 16 by false pretences. Bail was allowed in accused’s recognizance of £lOO and one surety of £lOO. Miss E. Pope, of Gore (Mr A. Smyth) claimed from Clarence Frederick Carter (Mr I. A. Arthur) £3O, a sum representing payments on a motor-van. After hearing evidence the Magistrate non-suited the plaintiff and ordered her to pay £3/3/- solicitor’s fee.
