Judge’s Comment On , Soprano Player “COULD MAKE GREAT NAME” (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, February 19. R. Thomas, of the Timaru Municipal Band, who won the E flat soprano cornet solo at the New Zealand brass band championship today, was described by the judge (Mr Frank Wright) as probably not only the best player of that instrument in New Zealand, but one of the best soprano players in any part of the world. The judge said he was sure Thomas could make a great name for himself overseas. Results:—
