CHILDREN’S PARTY AT HAWTHORNDALE
PRESENTS DISTRIBUTED BY SANTA CLAUS The Hawthorndale Women’s Institute held a successful Christmas party for the children in the Hawthorndale hall on Saturday afternoon. After games were played the small guests were served soft drinks and cakes, and the grown-ups enjoyed afternoon tea. The highlight of the afternoon was the coming of Santa Claus, when he spoke to the children and presented each with a gift from the Christmas tree. The children present were: Margaret Potts, Lorraine Allison, Zena Peterson, Isabel Austin, Maureen Hall, Ritchie Dick, Peter McKay, Ray Pankhurst, Ronald Wilson, Laurie Dick, Noel Lodge, Jill Hall, Joan Davis, Myra Ferguson, Garnet Owen, Milne Ferguson, Mavis Philpot, Eileen Potts, Shirley Brumby, Joy Peterson, Margaret Bryan, Robin O’Brien, Colin Goodsir, George Bryan, Noel Bryan, Barry Hall, Ronnie Bryan, Ernest Owen, Lex Agnew, Jenneth Allison, Lyn Hall, Betty Goodsir, Gordon Ferguson, Noel O’Brien, Nancy Owen, Scott, Insall (3).
