CAROLLING PARTY AT BORSTAL

CHRISTMAS SONGS SUNG Christmas is yet to come, but carolling has already started. It began at the Borstal Institution on Sunday evening, when a party of carol singers from the Southland Boys’ High School, under the direction of Mr H. Kennedy Black, presented a programme of Christmas songs at the institution. The party sang the carols, “Joy To, the World,” “Carol, Sweet Carol,” “Holy, Holy,” and “Adeste Fideles,” and Mr F. Williams sang Mendelssohn’s “If with all your Hearts.” Mr J. Thompson sang “Consider the Lilies.” Many other songs were sung by the party. At the end of the evening, Mr R. W. Arnold, superintendent, thanked the party and the soloists. Mr Black, who was accompanist and conductor, replied.
