WIN IN JOHN HOLE HANDICAP LUCKY JACK’S ATTEMPT ON MILE RECORD (United Press Association) TIMARU, December 16. The Timaru Trotting Club’s summer meeting was held today in perfect weather before a large attendance. The track 1 was in good order. The totalizator handled® £18,249/10/- against £19,194, when the meeting was held in the second week of January this year. After the second race Lucky Jack, winner of the New Zealand Cup made an attempt to lower the existing grass track record of 2min IJsec for ai mile but he was timed officially at 2mm 6 1- There was a strong wind blowing when the attempt was made.
