ENTRIES FOR NEW ZEALAND TOURNAMENT (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 2. Entries for the annual tournament of the New Zealand Bowling Association, to be held at Wellington starting on January 8, and which is the largest annual sports fixture in the Dominion so far as the number of entries is concerned, closed at the week-end. The entry is an advance on that for the previous New Zealand bowls tournament in Wellington, though not the largest for the Dominion. About 800 players will be in Wellington for the event, many of whom will come from great distances. In the singles there are 288 entries; in the pairs 260 and in the fours 170. A very large proportion of the entries has come from the other centres, only 87 in the singles, 91 in the pairs and 70 in the fours being Wellington entries.
