Mr John Macdonald, Invercargill, and Mr H. A. Price, Gore, travelled by the express to Christchurch yesterday on their way to Wellington.
Mr F. R. Miller, M. 8., Ch.B., of Invercargill, has been appointed to the post of house physician and ophthalmic house surgeon at the Wameford hospital, according to the London correspondent of The Otago Daily Times. Mr Paul Longuet, formerly of Invercargill, is now serving with the 164th Battery of the Royal Artillery at Acklecombe Fort, Cornwell, England. Mr S. A. Glennie, of the staff of A. Russell and Co., Ltd., leaves to join the Royal New Zealand Air Force at Wigram shortly. Before his resignation from the firm he was presented by the directors of the company, with a silver cigarette case, and by his fellow employees with a pocket wallet. Eulogistic reference was made to Mr Glennie’s popularity and wishes extended for his future welfare.
