FAREWELL FUNCTIONS FOR SOLDIERS , LOCAL COMMITTEE SET UP There was an attendance of 29 at a meeting convened by the Tuatapere Returned Soldiers’ Association to form a social committee to farewell local members of the special force who are at present in .camp or who may go to camp. Mr C. F. Bruce was chairman. It was explained that any local committees may farewell residents but at present must not collect for comforts for the soldiers in camp. The election of office-bearers resulted as follows: Chairman, Mr C. F. Bruce; secretary, Mr S; Crawford; treasurer, Mrs H. W. Whitehead; executive committee, Mesdames R. Erskine, G. E. Charlton, J. Tuffery, J. Stuck, Miss McEwan, Messrs J. . Dixon, J. Young, J. King, F. Harrison, "C. Gregory, McKenzie, Cosgrove; 5 general, committee, all present . - It was decided to / define the Tuatapere ' district as follows: Southern boundary from Mr D. Rodger’s residence across ,to Kilkelly’s mill, the northern boundaries Mr P. Scott’s and Piko Piko.

Gregory, J. Tuffery, G. E. Charlton, D. O’Leary, E. Souness. A report on the recent bazaar showed that the net profit was slightly over £52.
