TRUCK DRIVER FOUND NOT GUILTY
MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 19. Without retiring, the jury in the Supreme Court today returned a verdict of not guilty in the case in which Donald Nisbet, a truck driver, aged 26, was charged with manslaughter. The case was the sequel to an accident at Lyall Bay on the afternoon of July 18, when Shirley Ann Blackburn, aged 5, lost her life when struck by a lorry driven by the accused. Mr Justice Blair said he was bound to .say that the Crown had not presented a case which would entitle the jury to return a verdict of guilty.
