GOKE CANDIDATES IN ACTION MONDELLO AND MONA’S SONG SHOW UP The majority of Gore candidates were galloped at Invercargill yesterday mornin when the No. 1 grass was again in use. Remembo (Barclay) was doing better than Strathalbyn (Humphries) at the end of six furlongs in Imin 17 4-ssec, the last half in 52sec. Remembo was doing his best work at the finish and could have improved on this effort. Four novices, Royal Lancer (Ellis), My Song (Preston), Ackemma (Humphries) and Eire’s Ruin (Strathern)

ran five furlongs in lmin 7 2-ssec. Royal Lancer is the Irish Lancer— Winsome Sister three-year-old and Ackemma is an Irish Lancer gelding the same age, being out of Morse Signal. ■

King’s Chorus (Clutterbuck) -and Blissful Lady (Rowland) ran five furlongs in lmin 7 2-ssec, with the former showing to advantage Blissful Lady is recovering from the cold which has affected her.

Mondello (Barclay) on her own ran six furlongs in lmin 16 l-ssec, the last half in 52sec. The Nigger Minstrel filly was doing her work in good style and it was an attractive effort.

Mona’s Song (Ellis) beat Guste (Strathern) by several lengths over a mile in lmin 50 4-ssec, the last half in 55 2-ssec. Mpna’s Song was doing her work well within herself.

Royal Money (Ellis) and Ashaway (Barclay) beat Fairy Yama (Clutterbuck) over six furlongs in lmin 20 l-ssec, the last half in 54 2-ssec. It was a good effort on the part of Royal Money, who is a good type of three-year-old. Several other horses were out doing exercise, the number including, Amelita, Heidleberg, Wild Career, Sparkle, Foxlove, Ocean Singer, Doubleack, Sailing Lady and others.
