EXTRADITION ORDER AGAINST GREEK

FALSE PRETENCES ALLEGED (United Press Association) AUCKLAND, September 13. Application for an extradition order was made in the Magistrate’s Court against Gregory Psaltis, a Greek fruiterer, aged 29, who appeared before Mr F. H. Levien, S.M. The accused was charged that at Sydney on July 5 he did falsely pretend to Jabez Lyons that property enumerated in schedules of contract for the sale of a business in Darlinghurst road was the sole’ and bona fide property of Gregory Psaltis and by means of the said false pretence he obtained about £2136.

Detective-Constable H. W. Miller, attached to the Criminal Investigation branch of the New South Wales Police Department, produced a warrant and asked for an order fr u the accused to be returned to Sydney. Mr Sanderson, who appeared for the' accused, asked that the order be not made until- the ship left for Sydney; otherwise the accused might have to be held in custody in the meantime. After taking time to consider the matter the Magistrate decided to make the order.
