VARIED PROGRAMME PRESENTED
CONCERT HELD IN AID OF GARDEN FETE
Several well-known Invercargill performers contributed to a pleasing and varied programme in St. Mary’s hall last evening when a concert was held in aid of the Dominican Convent garden fete. There was a big attend-, ance and the items were all well received. Miss M. Fitzgerald and _Mr Kennedv Black were the accompanists.
The programme was as follows:— Chorus, Brahms’s “Rhapsody” (St. Catherine Girls’ Choir); violin solo (Mr R. Fraser); song, “Ye Shepherds Tell Me” (Boys’ High School quartette); solo, “Love’s a Jester” (Miss M. Casey) ; flute solo (Mr H. Joel) ; song, “The Floral Dance” (Mr J. Pringle); dance by Miss Renee Ward’s pupils; vocal duet, “Donkey Serenade” (Tansley Brothers); chorus, “Whispering Hope” (Marist High School Boys’ Choir) ; pianoforte duet, “Blue Danube” (Misses M. and P. Winders); song, “Where My Love Lies Dreaming’ (High School boys’ quartette); dance by pupils of Miss Joy Lewis; song, “Myself When Young” (Mr T. Grainger); song, “A Birthday” (Mrs E. K. Mills); song, “Hark, Hark The Lark” (Master J. Williamson); vocal duet, “Mandalay” (Tansley Brothers).
