N.S.W. FIXES PRICES FOR BRICKS
INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION ORDERS REDUCTIONS (Received June 9, 11.10 p.m.) SYDNEY. June 9. After the recent inquiry into the price of bricks when it was found that brick makers had a method of controlling stocks the Premier (Mr B. S. B. Stevens) ordered an industrial commission to fix the prices. After hearing evidence on manufacturing costs Mr Justice Debaun today fixed the price of common bricks at 58/6 a thousand, representing a reduction of 9/6, and the price of face bricks at 94/- a thousand, being a reduction of 24/- a thousand on current prices.
