GENERAL PERSHING KEEPS PROMISE
VISIT OF INSPECTION TO WAR GRAVES LONDON, June 8. General John J. Pershing, who commanded the United States Expeditionary Force in the world war, has arrived at Plymouth on his way to Paris. He is keeping a promise given to the troops during the war that he would visit France every year to make sure that the war graves were tended. General Pershing is making his 71st trip in defiance of the warning, of his doctors that another trip to France would mean death.
