Occasional Showers (Special to The Times), WELLINGTON, June 9. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland, issued by the meteorological office, Wellington:— Moderate to strong south-west to southerly winds. Weather changeable, with occasional showers and possibly, hail Temperatures cold. Seas rather rough to rough. Following is the Dominion forecast:— The weather is still rather changeable, with occasional rain in most parts, but comparatively little in Eastern Districts. Temperatures becoming colder. General Situation.—Pressure is still low over the Dominion and a secondary depression is approaching from the west. Over eastern Australia pressure is rising. ... j Winds.—Light to moderate and variable at first, but south-westerlies setting in tomorrow and becoming strong in many places. . Seas.—New Zealand waters, mainly slight to moderate, but later rising on the West Coast and about Cook and Foveaux Straits. Eastern Tasman Sea, moderate to strong south-westerly winds, reaching gale force in places. Seas becoming rough. The weather in Invercargill yesterday was fine, with a cold westerly wind. The sky was overcast. At one o’clock this morning the weather was cold and clear. and a slight westerly wind was blowing. The barometer readings for the past three mornings have been as follows: This morning (falling) 29.29 in Friday 29.28 in Thursday 28.92ix>
