ST. CATHERINE’S GIRLS’ CHOIR
TWO SONGS GIVEN AT COMMUNITY SING Two songs by the St. Catherine’s Girls’ Choir were a feature of the programme at the community sing held in the Civic Theatre last night. The girls sang "The Blue Danube” and "The Galway Piper” and the pleasing combination of their voices drew hearty applause from the big audience. Mr C. Trim and Mr B. Hammonds were the song leaders and Mr Howard Moody was at the piano. Mr Alex Sutherland was stage manager.
Many popular songs were sung enthusiastically by the audience and the items were well received. The songs included “September in the Rain,” “Blaze Away,” “On Treasure Island,” “The Lambeth Walk,” “Ten Pretty Girls,” and “Says My Heart.” Miss Madge Flaus’s pupils were seen in dancing items and Master R. Stewart gave an instrumental item. A ballet by “The Crazy Gang” was the cause of much amusement.
