MENZIES ASSOCIATION TABLE OF POINTS IN FIRST ROUND With the first A grade round still requiring one match to complete it, the table of points in the Menzies Association’s basketball competition is as fol-

The B grade table of points with most of the teams stili having three matches to play to complete the first round is

Menzies Ferry beat High School by 28 goals to 20, both teams giving a fine display of basketball. The pace right up to the final whistle was exceptionally fast. Both teams knew they would be fairly evenly matched, and they set off at a pace that at first resulted in some misdirected passing and infringements; but after a few minutes this was rectified. It was hard to single out any special third; but as Menzies Ferry has

a strong defence, the honours must go to High School’s forwards, whose combination was excellent. _ Had their goaling been as accurate in the second half as in the first, the scores may have been reversed.
