JOHN BARRYMORE IN OXYGEN TENT

CHICAGO, May 31. John Barrymore, the actor, who suffered from a heart attack which forced the cancellation of a play in which he was appearing at Chicago, was placed in an oxygen tent “to facilitate breathing,” but the doctors say that his general condition is much improved. His illness is attributed to exhaustion.

His wife, Elaine Barrymore, who is in Hollywood, declared her readiness to fly to his bedside if his condition became serious.
