Miss R. Lee, Dunedin, is the guest of Mrs W. Meager. Miss O. Thomson was a recent visitor to her home in Invercargill. Mrs E. Purdue has returned to Invercargill after visiting relations in the district.

Mrs Corkery, Te Wae Wae, spent the week-end with her sister, Mrs J. Hennessey. Mrs G. Brownidge and family have returned from Riverton, where they spent the term holidays. Mr and Mrs A. Kinross, Invercargill, were the recent guests of Mrs E. Garden.

Mrs Winter, Invercargill, is staying with her parents, Mr and Mrs A. King. Miss J. Morris, Tuatapere, was a recent visitor to her home in Orepuki. Misses D. and J. Whyte have returned from a holiday in Invercargill. Miss M. A. Hurst has returned from a holiday spent at her home, Craigdale, Clinton.

Miss Wilson, Invercargill, has commenced duties at the Orepuki school. Mrs F. Popham is spending a holiday in Christchurch as the guest of her sister, Mrs W. Hodge. Mrs Geddis has returned to her home in Dunedin. Mr and Mrs G. McLean have returned from their annual holidays, spent at Dunedin and Oamaru. Mr and Mrs H. Simpson, Dean Forest, were recent visitors to Orepuki. Mrs F. Egerton, Tuatapere, is visiting her home in Orepuki. Mrs C. Wilson, Riverton, is the guest of Mr and Mrs J. Wilson. Mrs A. D. Suddaby, Alton Valley, is visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs M. Moylan. Mr and Mrs R. Moore, Ohai, were week-end visitors to Orepuki. Miss D. Meager was a recent visitor to Invercargill. Mrs J. an extended holiday spent in Christchurch. . . Miss M. Fahey paid a brief visit to Invercargill recently. Mr and Mrs Harvey, Misses C. Harvey and Mobour, Messrs S. Butcher and Potts, all of Winton, visited Orepuki to attend the coming of age party of Mr H. Harvey. Mrs J. Cook and her family have returned home after spending the term holidays in Dunedin. Mrs E. J. Weir has returned from Tahakopa, where she was the guest of Mr and Mrs E. A. Brown. In honour of their son, Henry, who has attained his majority, Mr and Mrs Harvey entertained a number of friends and relations in the Oddfellows hall on Friday evening. Dancing was enjoyed, interspersed with tap-dancing numbers by Misses L. Finnerty and M. Carroll. Music for the dancing was supplied by Messrs P. Young, M. Bennett and S. Butcher. Messrs H. Buckingham and S. Butcher were masters of ceremonies. The Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mrs Palmer and Mr Pott, while Miss E. Bennett and Mr W. Meager were successful in winning the lucky spot.
